Delta

November 25, 2011

The Danube Delta is the space between the three river’s arms: Chilia, Sulina and Sfantul Gheorghe, together with the Razim-Sinoe lagunar system. It has a 4340 sq. km area and constitutes actually a low terminal plain in full process of alluvial formation.
“A metropolis of birds”, the Danube Delta gathers migratory birds from Egypt as well as those coming from as far as the Caucasus over Crimea or from the Northern and Central Europe. They all make a regular halt in the Delta, which becomes a “birds’ paradise”
